July 8

Bear with me for a little while today.  I'm going to be one of those annoying moms who brags on her kids and shows you pictures, pictures pictures.  It was very difficult to pick only 6 to post here.  The rest can be seen in our Picasa Web album.  The girls have been swimming for the summer season with the Y here in Suffolk.  Daily they impress me with how effortless they make it look.  They glide through the water like they were born to swim.

Here they are in their Gator suits before today's meet against the Barracudas.  The mom in me sees 4 beautiful girls with pretty blonde hair and immediately wonders how I can keep that hair from turning green.  Pool chemicals and blonde hair do not play well together.

Swimming is NOT an easy sport to photograph.  I must have taken at least 5-6 bad photos to get 1 semi good one.  This is Holly doing her favorite stroke the Breast Stroke.

Above and below are Caitlin and Gracie mid Butterfly Stroke. They make it look like an art. It's beautiful to watch. Both girls were very happy to have shaved 2 seconds off of their previous times for this race.  Gracie swam the 25 Meter Fly in 23 seconds.  Impressive!

Above is Abbie leaving the deck as the anchor on her relay team. Her little group dominated. I love it when that happens.  It makes for happy girls on the ride home.
Below is Holly swimming the backstroke leg of her relay.  Caitlin and Holly were both swimming this leg at the same time for different age group relay teams.  So it ended up being a sister grudge match.  A little healthy sibling rivalry.  Caitlin rolled in a mere 2 seconds before Holly.

On the way home from the meet this evening Gracie informed us that one of her team mates gets paid (from her parents and grandparents I'm guessing) when she wins races.  I let the little Butterfly Queen know that she could get paid to win races too as soon as she gets a corporate sponsor. She said she'd work on it.  You never know, that little firecracker may just make it happen, she certainly has the potential.
Just think, four swimming sisters on the cover of the Speedo catalog.
Sounds like a winner to me.
